Career Highlights

 

 

PROFESSIONAL

Jess played five years in the NPF, having started her career with the Akron Racers in 2012. In 2016, she became a free agent and agreed to a two-year contract with the USSSA Pride. In the 2014 season, Jess hit .274 on the season with 23 RBI's and was tied for 3rd on the team with 5 home runs. Providing the spark for the Racers offense at the NPF Championship Series, she led the team with 5 RBI's and hit .267, with 2 HR's.

COLLEGE COACHING

Jess has had stints as an assistant coach at the University of Redlands, Monmouth University and her alma mater, the University of New Mexico.

COLLEGE

Jess played all four years at  the University of New Mexico. In her Senior season, Jess set the New Mexico single season home run record with 24, which is 2nd all-time in Mountain West history. That year she earned NFCA Third Team All-American, Easton Fastpitch Second Team All-American, NFCA First Team All-West Region, 2012 Mountain West Softball All-Conference Team. She was named the Lobos’ Offensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player. 

 

As a Junior, Jess earned  Louisville Slugger and NFCA Second Team All-West Region. She led the Lobo's in eight offensive categories: batting percentage (.418), runs scored (33), hits (61 on 146 at-bats), doubles (15), home runs (13), slugging percentage (.801) and on-base percentage (.446). That year Jess led the Mountain West in slugging percentage (.801), doubles (15) and total bases (117). 

 

Jess started in 42 games as a catcher for the Lobos in her sophomore year. She hit .244 with 30 hits in 123 at-bats, totaling 14 RBIs, 12 runs scored, five stolen bases and led the Mountain West in runners caught stealing (15). 

HIGH SCHOOL

Jess played her High School ball at Etiwanda HS in Rancho Cucamonga, Ca. She hit .510 her Senior season with 27 RBI's, earning her Inland Valley Player of the Year honors.
