Tara Tembey
Career Highlights
COACHING
Tara enters her second season in 2018 as assistant coach for the Pacific Tigers, working with the hitters. Prior to UOP, Tara spent three years at Colgate University as the Raiders top assistant. In charge of the Raiders' infielders and catchers during her time at Colgate, she was also tasked with improving the Raiders' offense as she trained the hitting, slapping, and base-running for the team. Prior to Colgate, Tara was an assistant coach at San Francisco State while also spending one season as the head coach at Folsom High School in 2010.
COLLEGE
Tara was a four-year starter at shortstop, second base, outfield, and catcher at UT Chattanooga. During her career she would set numerous school offensive records including runs in a single season (55) and most hits in a single game (5). She finished her career third on the Mocs' season hits list with 75. Tara is second with 17 career triples and fourth with 145 career hits. The Mocs were two-time Southern Conference champions, winning 160 games during her four-year career.
While she was a member of the UTC team, Tara received numerous awards including the National Strength and Conditioning Association All-American Athlete of the Year honor, First Team All-Southern Conference, and Southern Conference All-Tournament Team accolades.
She graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in health and human performance-movement science from UT CHattanooga.
HIGH SCHOOL
Tara played her high school ball locally at Folsom High School. While at Folsom, she led the Bulldogs to finishing as Delta League Co-Champions and a CIF Section third place finish. Tara was named All-League Co-Most Valuable Player and First Team selection as Senior while being recognized on the Sacramento Bee All-Metro First Team. She was the Folsom High School Athlete of the Year
As a Junior, Tara was named to the Sacramento Bee All-Metro First Team as well as an All-League selection and team Offensive MVP following junior year. She was All-League First Team and team MVP as a sophomore.
Tara was a four year Honor Roll student, and in addition to softball earned three letters as a guard/forward on the basketball team.

Tara played her travel ball for the California Breeze.
